​J2829 - Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager - Hard Assets, to develop new direct asset finance business throughout the East Midlands. This role will suit an experienced, high-energy, and self-motivated individual with a proven track record of success in the UK Leasing Industry. You will have experience in a similar role which you can bring with you to make an immediate impact.

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 plus excellent bonus and benefits. Location: UK, E Mids

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead & manage existing client relationships and develop new business direct with clients.

  • Establish and secure asset finance opportunities to meet client and business needs.

  • Drive new business acquisition opportunities.

  • Maintain pipelines and customer/prospect records.

  • Research, create and follow up a target list for potential new business.

  • Develop long-term relationships with customer portfolio to maximise opportunities.

  • Analysis of prospects and potential transactions to decide on viability and structure of proposed transaction in the context of agreed credit parameters and the credit risk of the transaction.

  • Analysis of contract cash flows, discount rates and NPV calculations.

  • Understanding and negotiation of legal documentation.

  • Build an effective working partnership with credit colleagues to jointly agree credit risk actions and ownership of credit risk decisions.

  • Assist senior management with the business strategy and action planning process, including engagement with key internal stakeholders who help shape offering, including Credit, Legal, Sales Support & Technology.

  • Responsible for the delivery of sales and product training within region to drive greater product knowledge and product penetration across the core portfolios.

  • Assist with co-ordination, support, and oversight of regional campaigns, including agreeing and monitoring critical success factors.

  • Prepare credit submissions on larger transactions. Engage with team to assist in strengthening credit proposals and apply credit-based knowledge to applications.

  • Maintain a strong level of approval rates for our clients by ensuring applications are reviewed at inception for credit worthiness by applying existing knowledge and judgement.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • 10+ years in a leasing sales role.

  • Wide ranging knowledge of the asset leasing market.

  • Experienced in structuring and negotiating deals in the leasing industry.

  • Demonstrable track record of success and an appreciation of risk.

  • Managing and developing accounts.

  • Ability to work to targets and deadlines.

We strongly favour applicants with proven, relevant experience in Financial Services; particularly in Asset Finance and Leasing.

Applicants will only be considered with relevant in-country experience.
