Job description

​​J2971 - Our client is seeking a Collector (18 month Fixed Term Contract) to minimise customer arrears and maximise recoveries on insolvency cases. You will also be involved in resolving customer complaints by involving introducers and internal sales team to ensure customers remain up to date with their rentals.

Salary: To £34,000 plus excellent bonus. Location: UK, Bucks (Hybrid).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Minimise customer arrears by chasing debt via telephone, letter, e-mail and customer meetings where necessary.

  • Work closely with other departments including Sales, Asset Management and Risk to resolve defaulted cases and agree exit strategies.

  • Maximise recoveries on insolvency cases by working quickly to establish if there are any potential buyers for the insolvent company or equipment and fast tracking agreements for termination and uplift of equipment where necessary.

  • Resolve customer complaints by involving introducers and internal sales team members where appropriate. 

  • Ensure the customer maintains their rentals whilst being assisted.

  • Support with managing large exposure cases ensuring appropriate exit strategies are agreed and maximise recoveries.

  • Adhere to the collections guidelines in order to ensure all related activity is within specified compliance requirements.

  • Identify and escalate any potential issues on agreements whereby the customer holds a high exposure.

  • Meet all KPI and targets set.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Excellent communication skills and positive and team orientated attitude.

  • Ability to work well within structured processes and manage high volumes of cases efficiently and effectively.

  • Good knowledge and understanding of UK Insolvency and consumer credit laws.

  • Good negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

  • Good attention to detail.

  • Previous experience within collections is essential for this opportunity.

  • Ideally you will have knowledge of contracts and consumer credit as well as experience of Banking, Leasing or Finance Agreements.

  • Sound knowledge of asset finance products, structures and documentation would be advantageous.

We strongly favour applicants with proven, relevant experience in Financial Services; particularly in Asset Finance and Leasing.

Applicants will only be considered with relevant in-country experience.
