Job description

​​J2766 - Our client is seeking a European Compliance Manager to lead and manage the Compliance activities within the Risk department. You will manage and oversee maintenance of the Risk Register, capture all risks and ensure mitigating controls are put in place. Ensure sufficient controls and monitoring are in place to meet regulatory requirements for compliance.

Salary: €70,000 - €80,000 or £GBP Equivalent, plus excellent benefits and bonus. Location: Amsterdam, The Netherlands or UK, Gtr London / Surrey

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver and demonstrate fair customer outcomes to all customers.

  • Actively promote and adhere to corporate governance regimes and ensure effective processes and working environment are in place to manage and minimise risk.

  • Maintain and review Risk Register; capturing all risks and mitigating controls through testing and report outcomes.

  • Understand and contribute to the development of the policy framework.

  • Manage and report incidents to closure to ensure all requirement detail obtained, root cause analysis undertaken and escalated in line with the Incident Notification and Management Policy Standard.

  • Undertake Data privacy Impact Assessment and demonstrate a working knowledge of GDPR obligations and any local jurisdiction obligations.

  • Act as point of contact for escalation of data protection issues.

  • Perform monthly/quarterly independent sampling on key activities for quality assurance purposes.

  • Participate in determining any regulatory / compliance impact of Change initiatives, ensuring requirements are appropriately considered and satisfied

  • Direct and mange financial crime activities in order to identify and minimise the business unit’s exposure to financial crime including Fraud, Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing.

  • Provide advice and support on financial crime prevention matters to 1st line employees.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of UK and EU AML/Sanctions obligations including any local jurisdiction requirements.

  • Establish and collaborate with Risk & Compliance on a constructive and open dialogue with relevant local regulatory bodies and any other appropriate authorities in the jurisdictions in which client operates, and ensure that any regulatory reports, enquiries or actions are handled appropriately and promptly.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Knowledge and experience of compliance and risk.

  • Knowledge of European legislative and regulatory rules.

  • Knowledge of FCA, Data Protection, GDPR and ISO regulations.

  • Knowledge of Data Privacy Impact Assessments.

  • Knowledge and understanding of working and dealing directly multiple stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of operating systems, compliance and risk issues of third-party relationships.

  • English and a second European language (especially Dutch) advantageous.

We strongly favour applicants with proven relevant experience in Financial Services; particularly in Asset Finance and Leasing.

Applicants will only be considered with relevant in-country experience.
