Job description

​J3023 - Our client is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to underwrite credit applications in order to provide balanced, informed and reasoned commercial decisions based on relevant company and financial information. You will work as part of the Credit Department to ensure customer service levels are maintained. You will act with a high degree of independence working within approved credit guidelines, policies and procedures and be able to take decisions up to approved credit limits. The role will include presenting to credit committee and will include day to day transactions a well as credit line requests.

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 plus excellent bonus and benefits. Location: UK, West Midlands (Hybrid).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure accurate and efficient preparation of documentation and the credit application flow to ensure accurate and timely processing of applications.

  • Analyse standard, as well as non-standard and complex credit applications and verifies credit data consistency.

  • Ensure consistent decision-making with approved credit policies, guidelines, and procedures.

  • Gather and compile data to ensure that sufficient information is available to relevant Credit Committees and/or more senior decision makers.

  • Communicate and negotiate directly with customers/Dealer’s regarding credit deals within approved guidelines, as required.

  • Develop and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships.

  • Provide guidance to the rest of the credit team.

  • Provide support as required in all areas of the credit department remit focussing on retail underwriting but able to support wholesale underwriting as needed.

  • Comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including Corporate Governance, Anti-Financial Crime (Anti-Money Laundering), Anti-Corruption (Bribery Act), Competition, Data Protection, Consumer Credit Act and FSA.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Educated to degree level.

  • Strong background in credit underwriting, particularly committee level requests, focussing on the transport and construction industry.

  • Ideally working within a captive environment, but not essential.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience.

  • Excellent knowledge of financial services products

  • Customer focused.

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

  • Thorough with a high level of accuracy.

We strongly favour applicants with proven, relevant experience in Financial Services; particularly in Asset Finance and Leasing.

Applicants will only be considered with relevant in-country experience.
