K3258 - New Leaf Search has partnered with a global bank based finance company in its search for a Head of Credit and Risk, Hard Assets. You will lead the risk function by executing the first line responsibilities and building and maintaining a solid risk culture. Primary duties include the organisation, management and optimisation of risk processes within the business resulting in a high quality, effective and efficient business operating within company risk appetite. The scope of the role includes responsibility for credit underwriting, collection and recovery functions, business continuity, management of commercial finance operational activities, first line responsibility for Integrated Risk Management, and co-responsibility for compliance aspects.
Salary: To £90,000 plus excellent bonus and benefits. Location: UK, Midlands (Hybrid)
Manage, coach and support the managers and team leads reporting to you.
Analyse the risks in customer and vendor applications, approve transactions within your authorisation level and decide upon strategies regarding distressed accounts.
Assess or approve Customer Due Diligence assessments and ensure that regulatory requirements are embedded in the daily activities in order to support the business in achieving their budgeted risk loss targets.
Be supportive in translating our customer needs into solutions whilst maintaining risk appetite.
Closely align on all relevant risk and AML items within the commercial domain.
Build effective relationships with regional risk roles. You will be part of the local MT and build strong relationships within the organisation.
Participate in the risk/credit committees.
10+ years experience in risk domain (including Portfolio, Operational, Credit Risk, Asset Risk, ERM). Having experience applying significant levels of credit authority on retail and vendor finance applications, is preferable.
Experience of working in UK and Ireland regulated lending environment
Strong stakeholder understanding/networker. Demonstrates natural ability to collaborate with customers, partners and colleagues to achieve shared professional results.
Strong leadership profile showing capability to build teams, coach and mentor. Experience in providing powerful hierarchical and functional guidance in the organisation.
High level strategic thinking
Strong understanding and application of Risk/Reward. Familiar with Integrated Risk Management and Business Continuity activities.
