​K3259 - New Leaf Search has partnered with an international bank based finance company in its search for a Business Development Manager, Energy. You will be responsible for initiating, developing, and maintaining commercial contacts, identifying and pursuing new prospects and sales activity. You will contribute to expanding exciting new initiatives, and towards implementation of the strategy within the Energy Transition team to achieve ambitious growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyse the Energy Transition (ET) commercial market to identify and target opportunities within the overall ET strategy.

  • Identify, act on, and actively pursue sales opportunities.

  • Receive and manage quote requests and ensure follow-up of opportunities within sales organisation.

  • Develop and get approval on partner, vendor, direct, GBU, e-mobility opportunities. Proactively manage opportunities and relationships, liaising with all relevant stakeholders.

  • Manage business relationships with local stakeholders throughout the relationship lifecycle.

  • Work closely with the team members responsible for ET activities to build productive relationships, align ET strategies and activities, and generate ET new business volume.

  • Develop and use financial products, structures, and services necessary to support the acceleration and growth of the energy transition business for end user customers and partners in targeted markets.

  • Expand existing products, including pay per use initiatives to new customers and asset classes.

  • Represent ET to external stakeholders (i.e. customers and prospective customers) in line with business needs and external developments.

  • Work closely with ET strategic marketing and marcom to develop ET marketing communications.

  • Drive growth of ET annual new business volume.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Deep understanding and commercial experience in financing clean and green energy assets is a pre-requisite.

  • Energised, persistent and resilient to deliver best in class business performance.

  • Passionate about the business of the customers as well as our own (eager to deliver win-win).

  • Able to maintain a positive attitude to get things done while working to demanding targets. Sees opportunities and challenges where others see roadblocks.

  • Innovative and continuously looking for commercial business opportunities.

  • Relevant commercial experience in the asset finance industry.

  • Capable of working independently and as part of a “virtual team” across geographies and disciplines within the matrix environment.

  • Broad business knowledge across different types of products, structures, markets and asset types.

  • Strong understanding of business drivers and strong business development skills.

  • Experience in managing complicated sales processes and negotiating legal documentation including operating / program agreements.

  • Strong influencing, collaborating and negotiation skills.

  • Confident building and maintaining internal and external networks and relationships.

  • Confident and engaging presentation style

  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English.
