K3266 - New Leaf Search has partnered with is a specialist business to business finance broker and lender in its search for a Credit Manager. You will play a pivotal part in supporting the sales function across both asset finance and loans business, both brokered and own-book. Your primary responsibility will be to review/write-up proposals for external lenders or internally own-book credit team. You will also support the wider Credit function by helping to identify and shape own-book deals whilst in their early stages on the sales floor.
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 plus excellent bonus and benefits. Location: UK, East Midlands (Northampton) Office Based.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Involvement with lender selection.
Credit paper / proposal reviews with sign-off for proposals to be sent to lenders.
Provide staff training and support with quick and efficient sales focused internal-underwriting of deals.
Identification of own book deals early in a deal cycle, and ensure they are proposed internally.
Assist staff with drafting appeals to lender decisions.
Help the CCO manage relationships with the firms key lenders, staying on top of key KPI’s across the sales function to ensure those relationships go from strength to strength.
Support the Operational and Credit function in designing, implementing and managing processes to continue to grow own-book lending and origination.
A unique role for an experienced underwriter to take a proactive and collaborative, hands on approach to credit review, risk assessment and dynamic commercial decision making.
Real time dynamic mentoring and coaching of the sales broker team to increase credit risk awareness and technical understanding.
Imparting credit risk and underwriting experience to assist sales brokers with deal proposal.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
5+ years experience of credit underwriting across the SME asset finance market covering both hard and soft assets) with an average deal/ticket size of < £250,000 and/or
the SME commercial loans market, preferably dealing with shorter-term loans from 3 to 24 months, with an average deal/ticket size of < £100,000.
Currently or previously in a credit underwriting role.
Understanding SME/Corporate customer cashflows.
Comprehensive analysis of company financial statements.
Thorough understanding of the credit process with a strong knowledge of leasing.
Commercially astute and business focused.
