K3267 - New Leaf Search has partnered with a specialist provider of asset finance solutions in the energy sector in its search for a Finance Director. You will play an important role within both the senior management and wider team as the business looks to accelerate its growth; with a broad set of responsibilities. You will have a commercial and entrepreneurial skill set to develop their proposition whilst maintaining appropriate risk management through implementing strong corporate governance processes and procedures.
Salary: £90,000 - £120,000 plus excellent bonus and benefits. Location: UK, Greater London / South East England (Remote)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead on the on financial and commercial appraisal of current and new organic business opportunities, including pricing strategies to drive commercial performance across the business.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's commercial objectives.
Provide insights and recommendations to support revenue growth, cost optimisation, and margin enhancement.
Lead on the financial aspects of potential M&A activity.
Lead on the finalisation and implementation of the five year business plan.
Introduce formal and regular (at least quarterly) re-forecasting.
Oversee implementation of robust financial processes and procedures, sourcing appropriate tax and accounting advice as required.
Develop routine board reporting together with ad-hoc analysis to support specific board level decision making.
Lead on financial aspects of sourcing and implementing an operational system to manage customers; including automating financing proposals, customer assessment (credit worthiness, KYC checks) customer on-boarding, customer management etc. This will require close working with the Business Development and Operations teams.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with a minimum of 8 year’s PQE.
Experience of asset finance / capital leasing and/or infrastructure funding is required.
Prior M&A experience.
Experience of implementing Credit Policies.
Project work and experience.
Confident in delivering presentations to Board.
Experience of dealing with a funding panel and assessing balances sheets > £1bn.
Low carbon / cleantech experience is desirable but not required.
Previous experience of preparing and presenting information to a broad range of both internal (to board level) and external stakeholders.
Prior experience of managing financial transition (systems and processes) and financial transformation to best in class financial and business partnering services.
Demonstrable strong commercial acumen.
Rich blend of financial planning & analysis experience, coupled with a solid understanding of asset finance offerings and long-term corporate and project finance.
Ability to identify, articulate and mitigate financial risks associated with new business opportunities and present data driven recommendations.
Strong financial analysis, modelling skills and report writing skills.
Ability to articulate financial forecasts and plans to sophisticated financial investors and stand up to a high level of financial scrutiny.
Good knowledge of statutory accounting and finance concepts.
Good working knowledge of tax and treasury matters.
