J2745 - Our client is seeking a Credit Underwriter to quantitatively and qualitatively analyse and sanction or decline new business proposals, to support the Credit and Risk Manager and Directors. You will have asset finance and banking credit underwriting experience with a personal lending mandate.
Salary: To £42,000 plus excellent benefits and bonus. UK, E London / Essex
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the underwriting process and to approve credit decisions within own lending authority and where appropriate to provide credit analysis to the Credit and Risk Manager and Directors outside that authority.
Process high volumes of new business proposals and promote a high level of service to brokers, suppliers, and customers within strict time deadlines.
Assist the Managing Director and Credit and Risk Manager in the achievement of critical KPI’s for the asset finance new business department.
Maintain an awareness of and compliance with legal processes and statutory requirements in new business with reference to the Consumer Credit Act, GDPR and Anti Money Laundering Procedures.
Create lasting relationships with other business functions and have a broad understanding of all aspects of the business, assisting other personnel as required.
Become an expert in the broad range of asset classes in the portfolio and develop knowledge in other niche markets.
Be the key point of contact for the team in the valuing of assets.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Proven experience in decision making functions within the financial services industry.
A high level of numeracy, literacy, and an excellent attention to detail.
Excellent administrative, organisational and communication skills.
Ability to interpret and analyse financial statements.
Minimum 5 GCSE qualifications to include Maths and English.
Self-motivated individual with a sense of urgency.
