Job description

​J2868 - Our client is seeking an Asset Manager, Hard Assets to manage all aspects of asset management, including the application and valuation of equipment/asset(s) in line with International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) and Intl Accounting Standards (IAS) in order to set appropriate residual and collateral values within core business channels. You will be expected to effectively manage a portfolio of assets throughout their life, as well as optimise end of lease income through sales/remarketing of equipment through specialised resellers and/or on a direct sale basis.

Salary: To £80,000 plus excellent bonus and benefits. Location: UK, Eng (Hybrid Working)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate new business opportunities in order to assess, set and recommend appropriate residual & collateral values by utilising experience in role, knowledge of historic lessee behaviour, internal data, likely future value of equipment/asset and commercial significance to the business.

  • Develop a firm knowledge of the asset/equipment being financed in order to inform sound risk decisions. This is to be achieved through interaction with resellers, service providers, manufacturers, market research, internal data and knowledge sharing with colleagues.

  • Manage a portfolio of equipment remarketing partners through effective communication, documentation and engagement in order to ensure we are optimising our income through remarketing and disposal channels.

  • Communicate and inform leadership team of financial performance, projections and any potential high levels of risk on portfolio.

  • Negotiate with lessees and leasing advisors on end of lease options in order to produce the most appropriate financial and business result while maintaining ongoing business relationships.

  • Work closely with Sales, Risk, Business Processing, Collections and Legal Recoveries as appropriate in order to construct and manage new business opportunities.

  • Comply with Asset Management policies, processes, guidelines and authorities.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Ability to manage all aspects of asset management, from the application and valuation of equipment/asset(s) to setting appropriate residual and collateral values.

  • Ability to effectively manage a residual value portfolio, optimising end of lease income through sales/remarketing of equipment through specialised re marketing agents and/or on a direct sale basis where appropriate.

  • Highly effective at negotiating lease extensions to mitigate outstanding exposure, and identify opportunities to increase secondary income where possible.

  • Experienced in working in partnership and supporting sales colleagues in meeting our customers needs.

  • Have an analytical skill set and be able to assess/analyse multiple forms of data.

  • Be focused towards your continual development/knowledge of assets/markets through customer interaction, market sources and trade events.

  • Possess a strong technical IT skills/knowledge in all Microsoft applications, and be used to working with third party software applications.

We strongly favour applicants with proven, relevant experience in Financial Services; particularly in Asset Finance and Leasing.

Applicants will only be considered with relevant in-country experience.
