Job description

​J2870 - Our client is seeking a Collections Team Leader to assume responsibility for the day to day management of 6 Collections Account Managers. You will also be expected to provide a supporting role to the Head of Collections and handle more complex arrears cases.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the collections team maintains a high standard of treating customers fairly & assist in the identification and fair treatment of vulnerable customers.

  • Day to Day management of all staff to include providing support, training, and mentoring and guidance of arrears cases.

  • Monitor specific arrears cases of concern across all sectors and report them.

  • Effectively delegate arrears cases and monitor collections arrears queues to ensure an even distribution of workload.

  • To provide a culture of innovation and development to the collections team from idea to inception.

  • Monitoring and optimising income.

  • Reporting of no loss dysfunctions.

  • Liaise with Head of Collections on serious delinquencies and help coordinate any actions required to minimize losses.

  • Review arrears reports and instruct staff on any necessary actions.

  • Stand in for the Head of Collections in their absence.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Excellent Interpersonal, negotiation and customer service skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Handle demands, targets, guidelines and high stress situations.

  • Ability to handle conflict in a professional manner and to handle the situation with empathy to bring issues to a resolution.

  • Previous Leasing experience ideal but not essential.

  • Strong management, leadership and coaching skills.

  • Strong planning, organisational and problem solving skills.

  • High attention to detail.

  • An ability to work under pressure and to deadlines under own initiative.

  • Be consistent, dependable, and efficient.

  • Highly numerate and practical problem-solving capabilities.

  • Excellent computer literacy skills.

  • Understanding of FCA regulations ideal but not essential.

We strongly favour applicants with proven, relevant experience in Financial Services; particularly in Asset Finance and Leasing.

Applicants will only be considered with relevant in-country experience.
