Job description

​J2874 - Our client is seeking a Legal Executive to work directly under the supervision of a Legal Advisor, to support the legal side of the team involving a wide range of responsibilities including administrative tasks, contractual management duties and contract negotiation and review.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the hub for documentation approval request, ensuring account managers are submitting the approval request with all supporting documentation and correspondence and providing a commercial background to their requests.

  • Ensure all doc approvals are submitted for approval by the relevant signatories and ensuring all final approvals are scanned and filed to relevant internal systems /drives

  • Assist with ensuring standard documentation is FCA & CCA compliant.

  • Assist with ensuring relevant legal clauses are included in all contracts, as per policies, including Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Sanctions and Embargoes clauses in customer contracts.

  • Follow-up on regulatory transitions as required.

  • Manage and monitor the template contract review and approval process.

  • Maintain and update the suite of approved documents, and assist sales staff in using them.

  • Negotiating amendments to standard terms and broker, reseller and vendor documentation.

  • Approve internal ‘outsourced’ Supplier documentation for supplier relationships.

  • Sign off documentation for use across the business.

  • Complaints handling – drafting letters of response or reviewing responses for the Complaints Team when dealing with Satisfactory Quality (SQ) complaints from customers, and writing to suppliers.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Excellent attitude, possess exceptional organisational skills; have a keen eye for detail; the ability to meet deadlines; demonstrate a methodical and thorough approach to work; be good at juggling tasks whilst being able to prioritise work; a good team player with a desire to use initiative.

  • A legal work background (e.g. Paralegal, Legal assistant/ Legal executive) desirable.

  • A legal education (e.g. LLB or CILEX) desirable.

  • There is unfortunately no scope for trainee lawyers or those wishing to pursue a solicitor’s qualification to progress within this role.

We strongly favour applicants with proven, relevant experience in Financial Services; particularly in Asset Finance and Leasing.

Applicants will only be considered with relevant in-country experience.
