Job description

​J2898 - Our client is seeking a Continuous Process Improvement Manager to facilitate Operational Excellence progress across operations and reduce costs, primarily around workflow inefficiencies, remove waste and low-value activities and recommend solutions. Guided by CPI methodologies, innovative new technology & a real understanding of the analysis tools, you will take the lead in implementing changes, acting as leader, manager, and coach.

Salary: To £65,000 plus excellent bonus and benefits. Location: UK, Thames Valley / SE Eng

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of a ‘best-in-class’ continuous improvement Operational Excellence strategy.

  • Work with key operations stakeholders to develop short-long term strategies incorporating Six Sigma, LEAN, Agile and other futuristic technology practices to build a continuous improvement environment/culture to support an ongoing programme of change.

  • Elicit requirements and drive process change using staff interviews/side-by-side workflow review, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, business analysis and workflow analysis.

  • Work to optimise efficiency and drive improvements through smarter use of existing systems or innovation application of new technology.

  • Research/understand the range of possible future technology tools such as AI, RPA, OCR, Process Mining

  • Support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary complexity within operations processes through employing process improvement methodologies and the application of innovative thinking supported by factual analysis and identification of better ways of working.

  • Working with the existing team review and improve processes, so they are fit for purpose, accurate and lean. You will work closely with operational teams to ensure that data and reporting is effectively used to improve the efficiency and performance of the service output.

  • Coordinate and lead key projects for improvement, actively monitor project risks to foresee/identify potential problems and proactively identify solutions to address in advance including initiatives to generate ideas from all levels.

  • Analyse existing business processes using various methods such as gap analysis or PDCA.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement as well as losses, work with Managers and teams to troubleshoot further to determine root causes, drive ideas and solutions.

  • Identify trends and process variations as part of establishing a continuous improvement monitoring system.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Minimum accredited Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt.

  • Proven continuous improvement analytical experience from a similar role, ideally within a service-based business, including project management and business analysis.

  • Experienced in digital transformation and the use various CPI tools: Six Sigma, LEAN, Kaizen, Total Quality Management, Agile, API, OCR, Processing Mining, AI.

  • Analytical thinking – Ability to critically evaluate individual processes and projects, then summarise insights to arrive at a clear status. Use problem-solving skills to foresee obstacles.

  • Technical expertise – Have a firm understanding of process improvement techniques and experience applying these to make organizational changes.

  • Organization skills – Ability to coordinate planning and implementation stages of multiple projects, so they must be organized and committed to meeting deadlines.

  • Leadership skills – ability to coach and inspiring other team members to give their best effort and setting the direction for many initiatives.

  • Communication skills – being able to speak, listen, and write well is important, linked to making presentations, facilitating meetings and trainings, and creating reports. Excellent communication skills able to clearly express complex ideas.

We strongly favour applicants with proven, relevant experience in Financial Services; particularly in Asset Finance and Leasing.
