Job description

​J3064 - Our client is seeking a Credit Manager, Soft Assets to focus on controlling, managing and mitigating risk within key areas of the business within Credit and Risk Policy. You will underwrite new business proposals in line with personal mandates and recommendations to higher authorities which will include the evaluation of the customer’s financial status; all within regulatory obligations.

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 plus excellent bonus and benefits. Location: UK Flexible Location (Remote)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that credit risk is controlled and underwriting is performed in line with Credit and Risk Policy.

  • Verify information given in new business applications from both customers and introducers and evaluate internal and external information to assess the degree of Risk.

  • Evaluate financial statements to generate meaningful ratios, interpret collateral curve analysis and understand market, sector and portfolio considerations.

  • Prepare Risk reports that include the degree of risk involved with clear, concise rationale and effective, clear communication of decisions both written and verbal for internal and external customers.

  • Help to ensure all staff are aware of their obligations in respect to AML and KYC policies, controls and procedures,

  • Ensure the business is aware of emerging legislation that may impact performance and growth plans through sound knowledge of FCA policies (and other Regulatory bodies) and via thorough own research and building strong external relationships.

  • Support the preparation of compliance reports for internal and external purposes (FCA, Internal Risk, Audit and Senior Management)

  • Drive best practice and champion the development and improvement of existing operating processes.

  • Help to provide training and support in respect of compliance areas.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the Financial Services sector, ideally with some exposure to Asset/Equipment Financing to SME’s.

  • Working knowledge of Risk and Compliance frameworks and processes which underpin the financial services industry.

  • Commercially aware and able to articulate Risk issues with key stakeholders in a clear and concise manner giving them a reputation of approachability and reliability but also strength and credibility.

We strongly favour applicants with proven, relevant experience in Financial Services; particularly in Asset Finance and Leasing.

Applicants will only be considered with relevant in-country experience.
